Filing bankruptcy is not that easy

My husband plus I were a couple for 22 years, before the people I was with and I decided to get a divorce. All of us managed to incur a good deal of debt together, including our house, several cars, a boat, plus a travel RV. After my husband plus I got divorced, I couldn’t afford to pay all of the bills on my own. I got much further behind on my debts. I did not know what to do, when all of the creditors started hassling me everyday. Luckily for me, a college buddy of mine is a bankruptcy lawyer. She told me that filing chapter 11 bankruptcy would end all of the nasty iPhone calls, emails, plus letters. The lawyer then filed a petition to the court to claim bankruptcy. My lawyer buddy did not charge that much to help, although I had to pay for all of the filing fees plus court paperwork. I don’t understand how my ex-husband is paying all of the bills either, now that our income has been cut nearly in half. I hope the bankruptcy lawyer will get all of my debt cleared, otherwise, I’m going to have to repay all of the debts. The lawyer told me I will have to make a $800 payment every single week. If that happens, I’ll have to sell the condo plus move into a tiny apartment. The teenagers will miss the yard plus the swingset, plus I think that is what makes me assume the saddest. They did not even want us to split up, plus now they might have to leave their university plus the closest friends. I knew things would be hard when my husband plus I got divorced, although I truly did not anticipate all of these bad financial struggles.
