Where do you turn to when you can’t figure something out as a child? For those of us with older siblings, we often went to our older brothers and sisters for help.
For me, I usually would pass the video game controller to my brother when I was struggling to beat a level in a video game.
Today, my calls to my brother are much more focused on adult stuff. My brother has always been very mechanically inclined, but his recent certification as a heating and A/C technician has really bolstered his skills! Recently, I reached out to him regarding our air conditioning system at my wife and I’s home. I explained to my brother that the air conditioner would regularly cycle on and off, and in quick succession. I didn’t know if the system was just overreacting to the mild heat, or if something was out of sync. I had no idea! So, my brother came over and took a look at the air conditioning unit outside. After opening the unit up, he fiddled with a few pieces and then closed it back up within half an hour. From then on, the A/C system was running without pause for about thirty minutes! I was amazed. I asked what he did to fix the issue, and he simply explained that the A/C unit had to be recalibrated. He made it sound so simple, but I’m sure that getting an air conditioning unit is no simple matter!
