My son tried to apply for the HVAC trade school

I honestly hate to say it, but my son is definitely not the smartest kid in his class.

I don’t say that in order to insult him or degrade him, but I do know that I produced a child like myself.

He is definitely more of a hands-on type of kid, and quizzes and tests are not his forte. With the academic structure that most schools offer, he does not excel very easily. When he graduated from high school, he wanted to learn a trade rather than go to college. He was trying to decide if he wanted to be an HVAC technician or an electrician, and apparently, one of his friends told him that it would be super cool if he became an HVAC technician. My son applied for an HVAC trade school in our area, and after a few months, they asked him to drive to the HVAC trade school so that he could take some preliminary tests to see if he was qualified to be an HVAC technician. We both figured that these tests would be pretty common sense stuff, and we didn’t worry about it. I thought it would be super easy for my son to pass and become an HVAC technician. However, the math and science portion of these tests proved to be incredibly difficult, and my son failed horribly. The HVAC trade school apologized but told him that he would not be able to become an HVAC technician through their school. I tried to encourage my son to try again, but he wouldn’t hear it. I think that he has decided to become an electrician.
