The heat here is a bit of a particular beast.
Now, I have never been to Saudi Arabia or Egypt in the summer.
But, I do think that where I live we have a combination of heat & humidity that creates a potent mix. It gets so hot occasionally that I am dripping with sweat straight down my back simply walking from the front door to my car. That doesn’t account for the pure oil furnace inside the car. All that sweat just finishes the job. I’ve often considered simply going to my job in my bathrobe then changing in the bathroom at work. It gets so hot during our summer time that the only path to relief is constant Heating plus A/C cooling. Unfortunately, all this cooling comes with a steep price. Having the Heating plus A/C running all the time can ruin a budget right quick. However, there are easy steps to mitigate that expense. Perhaps the most substantial thing a homeowner can do is to be sure that the maximum of the Heating plus A/C treated air stays inside the house. This seems care about official sense right? However, we lose enormous amounts of treated air to exterior leaks & gaps in our ducts. I took a afternoon & scoured my house for any & all space that could allow Heating plus A/C treated air to leak out. Next, I called a company who, exclusively, cleans ductwork. Not only do they clean the ducts however they will seal joints so the Heating plus A/C treated air stays in the ducts. Couple that with a smart temperature control & some curtains & you could discover energy savings nearing 20 percent. Seems pretty worthwhile.
