Most of the time, you get what you pay for when it comes to heating and cooling

I know that my mom and dad always told me that you get what you pay for, but I never really believed it until recently.

I always just thought that it was an old saying that parents say to their kids.

But when my furnace tore up last month and I had to find a good HVAC company to repair it for me, I found out just how true that old saying is! I looked online for the very cheapest HVAC company that was available to come out to my house and fix my furnace. Most of the HVAC businesses that were near me had basically the same fee for furnace problem diagnosis and maintenance service fees. But then I came across a relatively new HVAC company in the area. This particular HVAC company didn’t have any reviews from prior heating and cooling companies, and so that should have been a major red flag for me from the beginning. However, I was worried so much about the fees for fixing my furnace before winter came that I just wanted to choose the HVAC company that was the cheapest. I booked an appointment with the cheaper HVAC company and waited in my cold house until the heating and cooling van showed up in my driveway the following day. However, imagine my dismay when this guy showed up in an old beater van and he carried all his heating equipment in the house in a cardboard box! He said that he fixed my heater, but the next day my house was just as cold as it was before, plus I had to pay for a furnace service call!
