The two of us always try & put off turning on the Heating & A/C system until October.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature rarely lets us meet this goal.
It never fails that at some point in October every one of us experience a cold & rainy day that makes the beach house recognize undoubtedly damp & cold. Well, this week is that day. The two of us almost made it this year however here every one of us are, more than two days before the end of the week & every one of us have to turn on the heat. If it is just a bit chilly every one of us don’t mind putting on an additional overcoat & some heavy sock however when it is cold & damp at the same time that simply doesn’t do the trick, but you end up feeling achy & miserable so every one of us just don’t have a choice. The main reason that every one of us try to avoid turning the heat on is to save money. Our aging Heating & A/C system ends up costing us well over a hundred dollars extra each week & it is tough to afford. My husband picks up overtime minutes during the Winter time to spend money for the extra expense. The two of us have considered upgrading the gas furnace however every one of us can’t seem to find a way to afford that either. I guess every one of us are just going to be stuck in this situation for the time being. If the gas furnace fails every one of us will have no option at that point so until after that I will just keep on paying for the higher utility bills. My husband will keep laboring overtime to spend money for it & life will go on. At least every one of us don’t have to keep the heat on full time just yet. A cold snap here & there will allow that for a while.
