Between paying student loans, health insurance plus car insurance, I hardly had enough in my budget to cover the cost for a cheap household.
I chose my living arrangements based on the cost of rent plus ended up in a rundown locale within walking distance of my task. I’d found an entry level position that didn’t pay a good amount of money plus I needed to trim my expenses in every way possible. I lived with a roof that leaked, squeaky floors, low water pressure plus questionable electrical wiring for nearly three years. The refrigerator wasn’t nearly cold enough to prevent meat from spoiling plus the toilet kept on running non stop. The oven smoked so terribly that I had to take the batteries out of the smoke detector. I attempted to never run the cooling device because it used so much energy. Whenever the cooling device started up, my electric bill pretty much doubled. Not to mention, the cooling device filled the household with such a musty smell that I always would get a headache. It dripped water, tended to make a screeching noise plus struggled to put out enough cool air to make a sizable difference… Regrettably, I had no real choice but to rely on the heating device in the winter. I’d bundle up in layers of overcoats, set the temperature control as low as I could stand plus shiver. The heating device was unquestionably inefficient, seemed to run non stop plus spewed a ton of dust. Whenever it started up, the lights flickered. I was terribly concerned about air quality plus safety complications, however my landlord wasn’t helpful… As soon as I got an actual raise at work, I found a better place to live.
