Cheap property includes seasoned heating and cooling equipment

I graduated university with a huge amount of debt. Between paying student loans, health insurance and car insurance, I barely had enough in my budget to afford a cheap property to reside in. I chose my living arrangements based on the cost of rent and ended up in a terribly rundown locale within walking distance of my job. I’d found an entry level position that didn’t pay very well and I needed to trim my expenses in every way possible. I lived with a roof that leaked, squeaky floors, low water pressure and questionable electrical wiring for numerous years. The refrigerator wasn’t actually cool enough to prevent meat from spoiling and the toilet just kept on running. The oven smoked so horribly I had to take the batteries out of the smoke detector. I tried never to run the air conditioner equipment because it used a great deal of energy. Whenever the cooling equipment started up, my electric bill pretty much doubled. Plus, the air conditioner filled the property with such a musty smell that I developed a headache regularly. It dripped water, tended to make a screeching noise and struggled to put out enough cool air to make a very big difference. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to depend on the heating equipment during the winter. I’d bundle up in layers of overcoats, set the thermostat as low as possible and shiver regularly. The heating equipment was honestly inefficient, seemed to run non stop and spewed a superb deal of dust. Whenever it started up, the lights flickered. I worried about air quality and safety setbacks, however my landlord wasn’t helpful in the least. As soon as I got a pay raise at my place of work, I found a better property to live in.
