I tried heating the basement with one electric space heater

My husband and I have a pretty small house.

I really don’t mind having a small house.

I think it feels really homey and cozy. I would not trade my house for a larger one if I could. We do have a full size basement though, and we had not really used it for anything for years. It was just wasted space with a little bit of storage down there. I was determined to find a way to use that space, so I decided to make an office in the basement. I made the office in the middle of July, and I used it for several months with no problem. It was not until mid November that I realized it was a bit too chilly down there, and I found myself taking my office work upstairs to the living room most days just so that I could stay warm. My husband asked my why I was doing all of my work upstairs, and I told him that it was because the basement was too cold. He told me that he could buy a fireplace to go down there for me, but I told him that it wasn’t necessary. I decided to just buy an electric space heater instead. Well, that was a mistake because it did almost nothing. I guess it brought up the temperature about five to ten degrees, but it was not enough for me. I cannot believe I wasted money on that space heater. It was quite expensive for how little heat it puts off. I think I am going to sell it and have my husband buy me a fireplace like he suggested.
