My friend and her family are very active.
They live up north and enjoy outdoor activities all year long; the cold doesn’t seem to bother them at all.
My friend visited me during the summer last year. I live in the south, and it gets unbearably hot here sometimes in the summer. My friend and her family had a lot of plans to do things outdoors. They had all been looking forward to hiking and being outside in the sunshine. They did not expect the massive heat wave we had. The only thing my outdoorsy friend and her family wanted to do was be in the air conditioning and the colder, the better. My air conditioner ran non-stop and it still wasn’t keeping the house cool enough for my friend and her family. I was used to the heat, so it didn’t bother me that much, but my poor friend was dripping sweat. Her husband was so hot he was getting headaches. I have a spare window air conditioner that I keep for emergencies and I set it up my friend’s room. She kept the window air conditioner running full-blast that whole visit. She and her family barely left the room with the icy cold air conditioner at all that trip. The one time I talked them into going to a restaurant with me, the restaurant’s air conditioner was broken. The place had their doors open and fans on, but it was too hot to even step inside. We ended up getting take-out pizza and my friend and her family ate it in their frigidly air-conditioned room.
