A disaster with no a/c

College was never so easy cheesy for me.

Like most kids I knew at the time, a good handful of friends and a crew of good teachers helped me endure the academic strife.

This college had a strange layout than your average university did. It was more like an outdoor college since the only buildings with roofs were the gym, the cafe, plus the classrooms themselves. Once you exited your place of learning, you were back into the building’s halls that were open to the outdoor air, so living in the south, this wasn’t such a awful concept. The university didn’t have a traditional Heating & A/C device. The a/c was needed for those times of the year when temperature plus humidity were at their highest amounts. Then there was a single day when the university’s Heating & A/C central cooling went out totally. It went from a problem being addressed by the staff, to an Heating & A/C repairman working for hours on end with no avail. The classroom doors were all wide open, but it felt muggy and disgusting to deal with. I remember the cafeteria’s floor having so much moisture from the heat, they had to put out wet floor signs. This was honestly one of the most uncomfortable mornings in my college years. The fans didn’t seem to make much of a difference at all. The administration came to terms, since so numerous kids complained how it was tough to focus without typical air conditioning ventilation, students were permitted to take a ‘sick day’ of absence if they wanted.
