I’m satisfied with my job as an HVAC technician.

I could get my heating and air conditioning certification and start working full time within 20 months, and I wouldn’t go underwater in loan debt doing it! Once I landed a gig as an HVAC technician I would start off with good pay as well as solid benefits, which would only get better over time.

Going away to college was never something I was legitimately interested in. I had been told my whole life, by our folks as well as our teachers, that we were supposed to go to high school, then go away to college. Getting a college degree was drilled into our head as the most important thing we could do, Then when I did go away for college I realized I had no interest in it. I was doing it because I had been told to. At that point I decided to find my own path, which ultimately led me here, to being an HVAC technician., I know you may be thinking “why would he quit college to work on a/cs; is he a moron?” Well I might be a moron, but for me being an HVAC technician was everything I wanted. I could get my heating and air conditioning certification and start working full time within 20 months, and I wouldn’t go underwater in loan debt doing it! Once I landed a gig as an HVAC technician I would start off with good pay as well as solid benefits, which would only get better over time. Another thing I wanted from a career was being able to leave my work at work at the end of the day, and being an HVAC technician gives me that. I work hard, but when it’s time to go home at the end of the day, I don’t think about heating or cooling systems until the next day when I go back in. My free time is sacred to me, and HVAC technician work never seems to intrude on it.
