When I was a kid, I never really thought too much about heating and cooling until my father hired a nanny.
He was a single parent and worked often, so he decided that us kids could use a nanny around the house. We loved our nanny immediately. She made sure there was always a nutritious meal on the table, and somehow we always liked it! Our nanny had allergies, so she made sure to stay on top of cleaning the heating and cooling system. I’m not sure the air quality of our home was even on my father’s radar, however the nanny made sure that the house was filled with high quality air filters working in the Heating plus Air Conditioning system. She even showed us boys how to change the air filters. She even got my dad to purchase a few air purifiers for the house that used HEPA air filters. She told us how HEPA air filters were the best air filters to use because they pull out all the harmful contaminants from the air, and we all absolutely loved the better air quality. Even as a kid, there was a noticeable difference in how the air felt! Eventually, our father started to get jealous because my siblings and I were so dependent on our nanny. Our father said he could do all of the same things, he was just constantly busy. The thing is, my siblings and I were really benefiting from such great air quality plus such great meals all the time. Looking back, I understand that my father had a lot on his plate and was working hard for us. I still think he should have kept our nanny around for us. He ended up firing her once my oldest sister was a teenager because he felt we were ready to be home alone. Even though I understand why he was concerned, my father should not have fired the nanny.
