Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamed about studying abroad in Spain.
I wanted to be ready for my eventual trip, so I decided that I would learn the language in the months leading up to the trip.

It was a way to get excited on what was to come while also learning so much. I began to develop certain study patterns. For example, I always had a more productive study session when I turned the air conditioning up. Once I discovered this, I constantly had to have the air conditioning system plan cranked up when I was focusing on reading the new language. This helped me to retain and learn the vocabulary with ease. I surprised myself with how much I was reading in such a short stage of time, however my father was a little bit angry that I was constantly blasting the cooling system. The very next day, his buddy came over and installed zoned temperature control. This way, I was able to have a temperature control in my room. I could make my room as cold as I wanted, and my dad had control of the rest of our household. All the studying paid off because I was able to speak fairly well Spanish by the time my trip rolled around. Although, I was missing my air conditioner!
