A debate to figure out the hottest state

I was having a debate with a friend of mine the other day.

The two of us were having a talk plus trying to agree on which state is the hottest; AZ, TX or FL.

I would have to say AZ because you have to operate your central air conditioning appliance for most of the year, plus it is only a few months out of the year that you will find yourself running the central heating appliance. He tended to disagree! He was saying that even though the state may be terribly boiling all year round, that when TX gets their heatwaves in the hot season you will be nearly crashing your central air conditioning appliance trying to combat it! While that may be the case, it is not quite as boiling as AZ. I should know, I lived in AZ for approximately 20 years… Florida on the other hand was also a part of the debate! But we both ended up agreeing that Florida seems the hottest because of the brutal humidity mixed with awful air quality. So we took that off the list. So it was pretty much down to Az plus TX! The two of us just could not agree on this. It didn’t actually matter that in one place you had to run the central air conditioning appliance all year round. That wasn’t actually good enough for him! So we looked up some statistics online of various temperatures. And as I knew all along, I was actually correct. AZ was in fact the hottest state in the country without any further question! My friend sort of just pouted easily knowing he lost plus that I was actually right!
