I should not have believed him.

I’m sure we all know people who like to brag.

Although they are usually the type of person that always has to be one better than everyone else, you are still drawn to them.

That’s how I was with my best friend. I didn’t want him to go along with me when I was looking for a home. I knew he would take over and make it like it was his home and not mine. I knew exactly what I wanted and I didn’t need someone’s opinion. My husband was overseas for six months, and I wanted to have the house and be moved in, when he returned home. Unfortunately, my friend showed up one afternoon, right as I was walking out of the house. He said he would be happy too with me and climbed into the car. I told him that I didn’t want his opinion on anything and if he said a single word, I would show him the door. I was really interested in this house, but I knew it needed some work. I was prepared to have the HVAC tech tell me I needed a new HVAC system. My interest was in the fireplace. I wanted to find out if I could have it repaired, or if it would need to be removed. I didn’t have a chance to ask. When the realtor mentioned that the fireplace was in really bad shape, he kicked it and said he could fix it. I was so upset with him that I told him to leave. I bought the house, but I wasn’t letting him anywhere near that fireplace.
