Finding new motivation at the gym

It’s hard to remember a time when the local gym wasn’t a big part of my weekly schedule.

Some of my earliest memories are of heading to the gym with my dad.

I don’t know if he wanted to familiarize me with the gym or if just didn’t have anyone to babysit. But, it was a way of life in my house growing up. My mom and dad were both very fitness oriented. I always spent a lot of time at the gym. Through school, I played all different types of sports. These activities led to plenty of time at the gym as well. Most of the sports required a specific style of workout program. After I graduated from school and started out my career, working out was a great way to alleviate stress. The gym has always been a place to go to get focused and feel good about myself. Recently, I noticed I was not as focused and losing sight of my fitness goals. The objective is always ideal health and total wellness, but I no longer had a specific goal to reach. My workout program needed a boost. I found new motivation through cross fit. I decided to try out a cross fit gym and it has been a game changer. This style of workout is very demanding. I’m finding a new level of strength and endurance. At first, it was a challenge to get through some of the more strenuous cross fit workouts. This was great motivation. I found myself eager to get to the gym and get better. I’ve seen improvement in my muscle tone and stamina. I’ve lost weight. I feel great.
