Why you need radiant heat

Quite honestly, I had never thought about having heated floors.

Growing up a Generation Xer, heated floors meant keeping wool socks on during the night, so you didn’t screech when touching cold tile or wood.

It wasn’t until I was an adult did I truly recognize and appreciate the fast pace world of technological advances. Such was the case on a recent camping trip to the Smoky Mountains where my family and I rented a deluxe cabin for a week. What made this four-wall framed mountain cottage deluxe? The installed heated floors throughout its entirety. I, yes me! I have decided for all mountain retreaters having floor heating in the mountains during winter is a must! I’ve thought long and hard about my decision; even with the knowledge that generations have gone without heated floors and survived. But at what cost? I ask. When, at any time, a blizzard, a snowy rockslide, a hatchet carrying a crazed killer is just beyond those walls, someone could have the chance of being snowed in. They are then faced with the knowledge that at any moment the harsh and deadly outdoor cold could threaten to sneak in and rob them of whatever heating device they might have. So whether you are facing arctic winds in the mountains or leisurely relaxing at home, everyone needs this luxurious device. I’ve declared it to be so. A radiant heater could really make or break a house. It is silent, energy efficient and just so nice to feel under your feet.
