Our house is unquestionably old, which is great in some ways plus very bad in others; First let’s talk about all the nice stuff we have here.
It is well over 200 years old, plus most of the wood is still original, so the craftsmanship is out of this freaking world.
Some rooms just read history to me, plus that is something an up-to-date duplex can never offer. We have an amazing porch along several sides of the huge house, a crucial yard, an attic plus an even bigger basement, with more room than we will ever need. Now the most excruciating thing… the locale is so aged it never had a central Heating plus Air Conditioning system, nor is it at all prepared to have one installed anytime soon. The problem is one of interior infrastructure, because there are no air vents in the house. Well, to be fair, is there is one air vent for the whole house, the one that leads from the huge furnace in the basement to the main kneeling room. I assume back in the day they often could have one honestly nice warm room, plus the rest had to get by easily without heating, I don’t know. At least there is a furnace there, plus since all heat rises we have something to work with. The AC, on the other hand, may be a complete failure f. Aside from using a portable or window mounted A/C unit, there is no way for the whole house to support a cooling system. So that will mean that one room will often be nice plus cool.
