Big ratings on the HVAC

I never considered the world wide web for energy saving tips and tricks.

  • My friends told me about Energy Star Ratings for up-to-date appliances, but didn’t know that there was also an organization that could give information about other savings.

It first started with an online search for Heating, Ventilation and A/C system efficiency. I wanted to try doing a little bit of the cleaning plus maintenance myself, that way I wouldn’t have to pay for a professional HVAC technician all the time. My friends did this, so I wanted to do it too. I was already responsible for replacing the filters on my own, so a few extra steps would be simple. I found out that Energy Star has a full list of items that were doable around the home, including a Heating, Ventilation and A/C list, to help me save on my annual utility bills. It wasn’t just information about the rating system on appliances. They even had places listed on their website that showed where to get better insulate around windows and doors to help save on the heating and cooling costs. The detailed Heating, Ventilation and A/C and appliance maintenance guides went into detail about when to call a professional as well. Did you know you could vacuum out your air vents plus cleaning the coils on your Heating, Ventilation and A/C component to improve the efficiency of your Heating, Ventilation and A/C system overall? I thought I only needed to change the filter every few months. I’m blown away by the amount of online information I found. I will check back often to see if there are other energy saving tips added.
