Sometimes more extensive maintenance needs to be done on your HVAC unit

Preventative HVAC maintenance is very effective at keeping your unit running for as long as it can.

However, preventative maintenance cannot stave off important repairs forever.

Eventually, some mechanical parts or other aspects of your HVAC system are going to need more extensive repairs or even replacement. Everything breaks down after all, it is the law of entropy. When something doesn’t seem quite right with your HVAC unit it might be time to call an HVAC technician out. Don’t be afraid to call out an HVAC serviceman when it is not time for your regular maintenance. Sometimes problems need to be addressed right there and then. Although, during preventative maintenance visits, an HVAC technician should be able to warn you when a certain part or other aspect of your system may soon need to be addressed in more detail. There are certain signs that some important maintenance may need to be done on your system. Unusual smells or a decline in air quality may be an indication that some work needs to be done. Strange or loud noises that develop whenever your system is running or whenever it turns on or off are also typically indications that there is a problem. Maybe you have noticed that certain rooms in your home get heating or cooling a lot easier than others. Inconsistent and uneven heating and cooling may also point to problems that need fixing. Have you noticed that your energy bills have spiked recently? Again, this might point to a problem with your HVAC unit.
