Boyfriend quits couples fitness class

It took my boyfriend and I several years to save up for a three-week vacation. The trip was especially expensive because of all the activities we planned. Rather than renting a car, we were determined to hike the countryside to better appreciate the scenery. Our hikes would lead us up the mountains and across some rather rugged terrain. Along the way, we booked excursions to bike, snorkel, zip-line, kayak and skydive. The vacation was definitely going to be physically demanding. I knew we needed to be in peak condition to manage it successfully and enjoy ourselves. I suggested that we sign up for a couples fitness class from a certified trainer. A few weeks prior to the first class, I started going for walks and runs. I made sure to stretch every day and made some changes to my diet. I coudln’t convince my boyfriend to workout with me. The first training session was strenuous. My boyfriend sat down several times. While I completed the whole workout, I was very sore and tired afterward. My boyfriend refused to attend the second class with me. I took the rest of the classes alone. I was the only person without a partner. By the time we left on our trip, I was in the best physical shape of my life. My boyfriend whined, complained and wanted to quit the whole time. We were no longer speaking to one another when we arrived home. Since then, I’ve continued signing up for fitness classes and have kept myself strong, healthy and fit. I am saving up for a white-water rafting trip with some friends.
