I have one of those jobs where I am outside all of the time. I spend most of my time out in the sun and the humidity. I have been doing this work for over fifteen years now, and after that amount of time, you become used to the heat and humidity and you don’t mind it. I seldom use my air conditioner at home because of this. I don’t want to go into a house that has the air conditioning down to seventy-two, when I have been working outside in ninety degree weather all day. I will mind the heat and humidity so much more than I should. I don’t mean that I am bothered by the heat and humidity, because I love it. If I didn’t love it, I wouldn’t be out on the beach so often. The only time I come in is when I can feel my skin burning and I don’t want to risk melanoma. To be honest, I do have my air conditioning serviced so I am assured it will work if I get company at my house. I may not mind the heat and humidity, but my family and friends do. I am more worried about my furnace than the air conditioning. Because of how used to the heat my body is, I fear that if my heating would go out, I could possibly freeze to death before the HVAC company could come out fix my furnace. Laugh if you will at my love of the heat and humidity, but I wouldn’t rather that than freezing.
