Working out in the freezing air

My minute ever job has been working at a big-box store assisting clients and providing help with basic jobs.

Any time someone needs a carry out, whether it’s a little outdated lady that wants help with her groceries or a legitimately sizable piece of furniture that requires extra hands, I am there.

I also occasionally give janitorial services in addition to keeping the shelving in the front of the store orderly and visually pleasing. I don’t have a problem with any of that stuff; it’s pushing carts into the store from the outside that is pretty tough, and don’t get me wrong, I love the fresh air and exercise, and it’s undoubtedly only recently that it has become difficult. Mainly because it’s chilly cold outside. It’s the middle of Winter out here and we are lucky if any given day is above chilly, everyone who works with me hopes that they will pull duty that is inside the store where the heating plan can keep them warm. I am totally with them on wanting to get the benefit of the furnace. I cannot help however not to feel legitimately sorry for the other employees who get to labor inside the heated store all the time when they complain about their job. At least they don’t have to do it in chilly cold weather! At least the customer service manager doesn’t mind when we take a chop or 2 inside the heated store to catch our breath, get a drink, and get warm. I don’t recognize what I would do if they insisted that we stayed out there in the cold all day!
