I love my home.
I have lived in this house for about 15 years now and have seen a lot in that time. One of my only complaints about my home is how cold it gets in the master bedroom. I am a very cold-natured person and, while I like it a bit chilly when I sleep, I don’t like feeling like I’m in a walk-in freezer! Okay, that’s probably an over exaggeration but still, it’s cold in that room. My husband and I were talking about it and looking up solutions online. This is an older home and actually had a fireplace at one point but that seemed like a lot of work to get that fireplace up and running again. We had already had our HVAC provider send out an HVAC technician to take a look and he had said that in order to fix the issue we would need to get zoned HVAC. Well, that was a lot to fool with too- especially for one room! After explaining that to the HVAC technician he had passively recommended getting a radiant heater. I didn’t know what that meant, and it sounded expensive so I didn’t think about it again. My husband mentioned it to me this last time, though, and he said it’s not like radiant heating. He explained that it’s more like a portable heater but one that’s of a really high quality. I was very excited when I saw that a nice portable radiant heater was extremely affordable and, I’m happy to report, works really well!
