Issues with my A/C

That seemed so simple that I felt kind of silly

Recently, I have been having some issues with my air conditioner. It’s not old, really. I’ve had it for several years but it’s not on its last legs or anything like that. I regularly change the air filters and get my ductwork cleaned. It wasn’t any of the usual suspects. Honestly, it wasn’t even broken it just wasn’t up to snuff. I called the HVAC company and explained the issue. The a/c specialist on the line told me that my air conditioner might just need a tune-up or need something repaired. An HVAC technician came later that week to check out my air conditioner. I explained to him that it was working ok but that it just wasn’t cooling off as fast or as much as it used to and that I had been noticing this over the last few weeks or so. After running some diagnostics on my air conditioner, he said that the a/c repair was pretty simple; I had a little freon leak. That seemed so simple that I felt kind of silly. The HVAC technician explained that it’s not a big deal and it happens to a lot of “middle aged” air conditioners and that’s why it’s important to have these air conditioner tune-ups every few years or so just to make sure the a/c is running properly and efficiently. I was certainly relieved that I did not have to replace my air conditioner and/or that I wasn’t on the verge of having to replace my air conditioner. After the HVAC technician repaired the little freon leak in my air conditioner, the air quality has been back where it should be.
