Arguing about which state is the hottest

I was recently having a debate with a friend of mine the other afternoon.

The two of us were discussing a certain topic as well as trying to agree on which state is the hottest; AZ, TX or FL.

I would have to say AZ because you have to run your central air conditioning equipment for most of the year, as well as it is only a few months out of the year that you will find yourself running the central gas furnace. He tended to disagree, basically saying that although the state may be super tepid all year round, that when TX gets their heatwaves in the Summer months you will be nearly crashing your central air conditioning equipment trying to combat it! While that may be the case, it is not quite as tepid as AZ. I should know, I lived in AZ for roughly 20 years. FL on the other hand was also part of the debate. The two of us both ended up agreeing that FL seems the hottest because of the horrible humidity mixed with terrible air quality. So the two of us took that off the list. So it was pretty much down to Az as well as TX! The two of us just could not agree on this at all. It didn’t matter that in one place you had to work the central air conditioning equipment all year round. That wasn’t nearly good enough for him! So the two of us looked up a couple of statistics online of temperatures. And as I was aware of all along, I was right. AZ was truly the hottest state in the country without any further question! My friend was basically pouting in the corner realizing that he lost as well as that I was easily right!
