Most apartments I have stayed at were month to month lease

Nowadays, I only look at month to month rentals

Something that has always bothered me about most apartments is how long the contract is. Most contracts dictate that you have to live there for a year. If you want to move anywhere else, then you get smacked with a fine, as well as some landlords making it incredibly difficult to leave. I have never liked this idea, but with my parents’ persuasion, I ended up moving out of their home and signed a contract for a year. That was a miserable year, and only after a month, I knew I had made a mistake. The apartment I lived in, although expensive, was junk. I constantly had things breaking down or just something off about them. The A/C system always had a weird smell, and so it was always a debate on whether I want to stay cool but with a smelly apartment, or be hot with a normal smelling apartment. I had a HVAC tech look at the air conditioner but they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. The microwave is completely broken as well, and I hated that place. Once my lease was up, I left faster than the speed of light. Nowadays, I only look at month to month rentals. I don’t even mind if it’s a monthly furnished rental, but it has to be short term housing. For the past 3 months, I have been living in a month to month lease, and not only is it exactly what I like, but I have yet to have any issues with this place. Any place I stay at has to have monthly lease options.
