After college, I accepted a job on the other side of the country from where I grew up.
Although I knew absolutely no one, it was a great opportunity for me.
I was thankful to get a position within my chosen field that offered a greate benefit package, upward mobility potential and an impressive paycheck. When I looked for places to rent, I found an apartment complex with rent at the very maximum of my budget. Although I knew I should choose something cheaper, I just couldn’t pass up all of the amenities. It’s a huge and modern apartment complex that includes a giant swimming pool, tennis courts, barbecue grills, sun loungers, game room and gym. Inside my apartment, I have a washer & drier, two full bathrooms, stainless appliances, granite countertops and a balcony. I love that I can walk a few steps down the hall and have access to all of the latest fitness equipment. The gym is set up with treadmills, stationary bikes, elipticals, rowing machines, strength training machines, weight benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, yoga mats, jump ropes, medicine balls, resistance bands and more. There’s every type of workout equipment I could ever want and everything is maintained in perfect condition. The gym is always clean, includes a restroom and offers free bottled water. Because I workout at odd hours, I usually have the gym entirely to myself. When I get tired of working out inside, I can always go swim laps in the pool. I only planned to stay at the apartment complex for one year. However, when my lease was up, I couldn’t stand the though of leaving. I have now lived in the same place for nearly five years.
