My new heating and air conditioning system is taking a little extra time to get used to it.

It’s proving to be more difficult than I expected to get used to the new heating and air conditioning system in our home.

At first, I thought it was just more powerful and more sensitive than the older systems.

In time, I began to see that it was more than just a matter of being fancier new equipment – this new heating and air conditioning system was very sophisticated! The thermostat was no longer a simple dial thermostat, but now a multi-button stronghold of heating and cooling commands and scheduling for the entire household. The funny thing is, I wanted the simpler model! There are thermostat systems specifically made to be be used in every single room of the house. I could barely handle this thermostat, so I know that “zone control” thermostats weren’t for me. Besides, there were just too many issues that I couldn’t get straightened out. For one, why did the heating and air conditioning system need a schedule when I worked from home? I could see how that benefits someone who works in an office or is away from home often, but I spend 95% of my day in my own house. Plus, I didn’t understand why I needed to have an air purification system installed, either! The air quality in this region of the country is excellent all year long, thanks to us living in a mountainous region high above sea level. That’s why it wasn’t going to serve much of a purpose, other than making extra-sure that the air quality in the house was second to none.
