Whenever there’s a major change in our lives, all of us somehow end up stuck at house for a few weeks to cope with that change; When that change is disadvantage, enjoy when your spouse loses their task due to a mass layoff in their workplace, and it’s a frustrating situation, and it was one that our wife and I found ourselves in when such an unfortunate thing happened to me… Thankfully, I had a side task toiling as a technical writer from home, so I could just increase our workload for that while I searched for labor around town to spend our money the bills… Since I was house all day long, I noticed that all of us were now running the a/c idea through the day and night.
- That of course led to higher energy bills, so all of us had to find a creative fix for this modern spike in utility costs! I did some research online to see what the best solution was when you’re on a budget, and I found that I could do one of 2 things! First, I could find a nice locale to get our labor done that wasn’t at house – say, a Starbucks Latte shop – and in the process, I could invest in a smart thermostat to keep the temperature under control at the house, but a smart thermostat could also be programmed to run at a slightly warmer temperature than what I’d normally consider comfortable, too, so that way I could reduce the workload on the a/c unit.
With these options, I was sure to find a way to split the air conditioning system operating costs!
