I sense trouble

I hate to fire employees, but sporadically it is absolutely necessary.

  • I only fire employees if they leave myself and others with no other choice.

Most of the time, I will offer an intervention or solution. In the past several years, I’ve only fired a single employee, and that’s because he was stealing from the business. It’s strenuous to find smart and reliable heating and A/C professionals, so I love to keep the superb a singles around. Some of our heating and A/C professionals have trouble with tardiness. I don’t get too annoyed with late employees, as long as they still perform exemplary fieldwork. When employees have unexcused absences, it absolutely hurts the heating and A/C business. The two of us are a small shop with less than a dozen employees, but our heating and A/C business is often busy, and each employee has a biweekly schedule. When someone does not show up for work, all of the other employees have to choice up those extra jobs. I hired a guy named Henry last year, and he was doing a good job. The shoppers were glad with Henry’s repairs, and he was getting along with the other employees. Sometime last month, Henry and his bestie separated. Ever since that, Henry has been a totally unusual guy, but he shows up late for work, and sporadically he does not come in at all, and last week, a shopper complained that Henry was drunk on the job. I hate to fire the guy when his bestie just left, however I am afraid that he isn’tgoing to leave myself and others any other choice. I can’t have any employees putting themselves or our shoppers in danger.
