After I graduated from school, I left the south where I spent my whole life growing up, however don’t get myself and others wrong, it’s a lot warmer down here and the pace of life is a bit slower, however nobody ever tells you about how humid it gets. The temperature outside can be 72 degrees, however with 79 percent humidity, it feels like it’s 110 degrees! The air is so thick, you can’t breath properly. I accepted a job up North upon graduating, because I never wanted to guess the thick moisture in the air ever again; For the most part, I’ve managed to escape it. There are a few precious mornings in the summer time when the humidity is more than I’d like, however it’s nothing compared to down south, but last week, was 1 of those weeks. I remember waking up to an apartment that felt hotter than normal, and there was so much moisture inside. Although my air conditioner system was running, it ran constantly, and was laboring overtime to beat the humidity. As a leaseholder, I couldn’t do much about the Heating plus A/C system, but I didn’t want to spend my money more in energy bills. In an attempt to eliminate the humidity and keep my cooling system running efficiently, I bought a small dehumidifier. All I had to do was plug it in and then empty out all the water once it filled up. Within an minute, I could guess the air cooling in my apartment and I noticed my cooling system wasn’t running as frequently, even though there’s a little humidity where I live now, I’m ecstatic it’s not anything like where I came from.
