I recently switched jobs and my insurance carrier changed.
I thought it would be a problem, but my coverage is so much better with the new company health plan.
The best part of is saving some dollars on the premium because my wife and I are members of a fitness gym. As long as we provide proof of gym membership, the company will pay 10% of our premium rate. It’s not a huge amount, but it adds up every payday. It’s nice to get the perk, even though my wife and I rarely visit the gym. We are always too busy with work and the kids. I leave for work before the sun comes up and neither one of get home until late. By the time we make dinner and have a bedtime ritual with the kids, we have time for working out a gym. We have been using the treadmill every night. My wife walks 5 miles and I walk 6. We are trying to build up our endurance so we can participate in a company walkathon. The walk is 22 miles and the event is over a two day period. All of the proceeds are going to be donated to the local children’s hospital. It’s a great day of fun, activities, games, food, and the walk. There are plenty of things for everyone to stay busy. This is the first year that I will be a part of the walk, so I really want to do well. I would like to finish with good times on both days, so I can impress my boss.
