Getting the house figured out

A few months ago my husband and I took on the task of buying an old abandoned house in the hopes of fixing it up and flipping it.

We have always been the type of couple that loves working on projects during our free time and now that we don’t have any more kids living in our house we thought this house remodeling project would be a good way to keep us occupied.

While the majority of our friends and family thought that we were going to be way over our heads, but to our amazement we have actually been making good progress over the past few months. Sure there have been some missteps during this process, but that is something that you should expect when trying something new and challenging like this. One of the most important things we decided to take on at the start was replacing the HVAC system as well as the entire ductwork system. My husband has a strong background in HVAC repair thanks to his father which helped us save several thousand dollars on the replacement project when factoring in labor costs and equipment. As soon as we had a modern HVAC system going all of the other projects around the house we took on seemed to be easy compared to all that we had to do when replacing the HVAC system. In only a few more months we are expecting to be able to finally put the house on the market and make some real money. I know we still have a long way to go, but we are without a doubt on the right track!
