Getting it all handled

During the hottest area of the summer, the last thing you’re really thinking about it doing a tune up on your oil furnace! I recognize that around here where both of us live, the weather gets to be insanely hot! The temperature outside can be above a hundred degrees on some afternoons, and then the humidity is miserable too! And so when the outside temperatures are that high, the last thing on your mind is your heating method that’s kneeling down in the basement.

At least that’s how it is with me. Last year, though, I was talking to a neighbor of mine who owns a local Heating and A/C corporation business, but he told me that the best time of the year to get a tune up on your heating method is during the summer time when it’s not running all the time. That way, your oil furnace – whether it’s a heating pump, a gas oil furnace, an electric oil furnace, a boiler, or whatever – has a chance to cool down and the Heating and A/C professionals who are taking a look at it can see exactly what needs to be done to keep it well inspected. The other thing is that your oil furnace or heating equipment can get legitimately grimy and dusty throughout the summer, and so it’s a great idea to have an Heating and A/C professional come and clean it thoroughly; Sometimes you have to take some of the heating components apart to get it all the way cleaned. If you do that in the winter, you’re going to be in for a cold afternoon with no heating! So this summer, when you’re running your air conditioning system at full speed, take a moment to recognize about your furnace that’s languishing away down in your basement. Take care of it now, so you won’t have to recognize about it when the Wintertide comes again!
