The complication was that I was also heating and cooling the entire apartment to a comfortable level, and it was costing myself and others a fortune. In the section where I live, the weather requires some style of temperature control just about all year round. Heating and cooling adds up to about half of my quarterly energy bills. I consulted with a local HVAC corporation for recommendations, and he recommended the upgrade to zone control. The professional installed a series of valves into the air duct that regulates airflow to the unusual areas of the home. I now have a control unit in each room that I’m able to access through an app on my smartphone. I’m able to customize the comfort in my bedroom separate from impacting the rest of the house. I can avoid heating and cooling empty rooms and cater to the identifiable requirements of the areas.
