It just so good when I actually do my due diligence with regard to a purchase.
It’s even better when it turns out that I am even more pleased with the value of that purchase once I have it.
Nothing like buyer’s remorse to bum you out. All the spending of more that a hundred bucks gets a thorough vetting by yours truly. That goes for anything from a new bike to an HVAC replacement. One recent purchase is in the running for buy of the year as far as I am concerned. Not too long ago, I had the HVAC people come out and install a smart thermostat. Among my friends and colleagues, I was late to the smart HVAC thermostat party. Many of the people I know bought a smart thermostat as soon as they came out. And just about everyone of them was super impressed with the performance of the HVAC smart thermostat. I held off. Mostly this was due to not really feeling convinced that it was something our home needed. However, I also didn’t want to buy one and then have it be obsolete in a minute. Then, I started hearing from one buddy about the HVAC energy savings he was realizing with the smart thermostat. That’s when I decided that I should really check into this thing. After like a week or two of online research, I was convinced that the smart thermostat was worth the money. Once I picked one out, all there was to do was to have the HVAC pros put it in. I could not be more pleased with the value of the smart thermostat.
