Dealing with the exhaust fumes from the heating appliance

My partner finds it crucial to run his car for quite a few minutes in the early morning in order to get it warm.

I easily get that every one of us lives in a section that gets a ton of snow however studies have shown that warming up a car unquestionably does no good.

It wastes gas & only heats up the car approximately 1 minute quicker than just driving it does. This is despite the fact that the car is left running for quite a few minutes… My partner & I have argued about this on numerous occasions. It wouldn’t bother me so much except for the fact that the utility closet is in the garage. That means that the heating appliance picks up exhaust fumes & spreads them throughout the whole dwelling. Yes my partner leaves the garage door open & yes the air intake vent for the heating appliance is inside the dwelling! However, there must be gaps in the ductwork or something because the whole dwelling still stinks like exhaust every single day. I can’t deal with this anymore! The door to the garage is sealed tight so it has to be the heating appliance that is spreading the exhaust fumes. I am honestly tired of fighting about it though so I made the choice to call up a Heating & A/C appliance supplier & have them do some ductwork sealing instead. I told them to concentrate their efforts on the ductwork in the garage. They sealed up the ductwork throughout the entire dwelling & know what? No more exhaust fumes! I am extremely glad about that. Now I don’t have to worry about dying just so my partner can go on thinking his car is warming up faster.
