I adore my nephews and I couldn’t wait for them to come over and visit.
My sister and her husband were going away on a business trip and I was anxious to have my nephews stay.
I knew they were a bit precocious, but I didn’t mind. I knew exactly how to handle them. I took them shopping the first afternoon they were with me. I wanted to buy some air filters for my air conditioning unit. I also wanted to buy them something that would help to be entertained. I planned on buying them a game for the gaming system I owned. I allowed them to pick out the game, while I went and purchased my air filters. I was talking to the man at the counter when I walked into the game store, and I could see my nephews. I couldn’t believe what I saw. My oldest nephew had just picked something up and put it in his hoodie. I excused myself and walked back to them. I told him to hand over whatever he had taken. He told me he had no idea what I was talking about. I marched him up front and told the clerk that he had stolen something and he needed to be searched. The man found a small handheld gaming system. He gave it back, but I paid for it. I took both boys home without a game and I sat them down. I couldn’t believe that in the time I bought two air filters, they could get in that much trouble. He told me that if I hadn’t said anything, he would have gotten away with it. I needed to have a long chat with my sister.
