I wanted more than just a job.

I was excellent when it came to playing computer games

My father kept telling me that I was old enough to have a job and get out on my own. I wasn’t interested in getting a job or an apartment. I knew my mom would back me, but I didn’t want her to get in trouble with dad. Mom told me that she would help me get a job and she would talk dad into letting me make the apartment over the garage, livable. I didn’t think this would work for dad, and I didn’t just want a job. I wanted a career. I finished high school five years ago, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get a career without college or training. Mom told me they were holding classes at the local college. As much as I didn’t want to do it, I went to the college. They were offering HVAC classes. I thought even if I didn’t want to be an HVAC technician, I could always work on mom and dad’s furnace or air conditioning system, or even on my own someday. I signed up, knowing mom would help me with the tuition. Once I started classes, I realized I had a knack for this kind of work. I really enjoyed working with HVAC systems. When they began telling us about the automated HVAC systems, I was hooked. I had always loved working with computers. I was excellent when it came to playing computer games. I had a lot of practice with them over the past five years. I couldn’t wait to take added courses to learn how automated systems and HVAC worked together.
