I thought my buddy was crazy for wanting to become an HVAC technician.
I thought it would be weird going into random people’s homes to work on their heating and cooling equipment.
I asked my buddy if he was concerned about vicious dog attacks and things like that. My buddy laughed and said I was always paranoid. We said our goodbyes and that was it for a good 4 years or so. By the time I came back to town, everything was different. I talked to my buddy on the phone and he told me that he owned his own house with radiant heated floors. I laughed and said I didn’t believe a word of it. I had just graduated from college and I was looking for work. I didn’t think he could be that successful while I was away at school. When I first got to his residence, I thought I had to be at the wrong address. My buddy didn’t come from a wealthy family, but it seemed like it. His home was entirely huge. When I got inside, I was amazed because he really did have radiant heated floors all throughout his home. There were a few beautiful fireplaces as well. I asked him how he was able to manage and he said he started his own HVAC company. Things were a little slow for him at first, but then he picked up a ton of business after another HVAC company went out of business. He said things have been looking up ever since and he has been making a fortune.
