Understanding why our gas furnace filter is so dirty

Since our father had a HVAC business, I had grown up accompanying him to some site visits.

Therefore I had an method on how to problemshoot some of the concerns with any HVAC unit, however even though I did not labor in this industry, I had some method on how to check on these units to ensure they functioned optimally. When our equipment stopped toiling one Wintertide afternoon, I set out to problemshoot it before contacting an actual HVAC repairman. The first thing I tested was the temperature control and it was set to on. The next heat and AC product I tested was the gas furnace filter and to our surprise, It was completely blocked with dirt and debris. The blocked whole-house air purifier had caused the boiler to malfunction and so it obviously needed a boiler repair. I contacted the HVAC repairman who showed up the next afternoon. The heat pump service revealed what both of us already knew that the whole-house air purifier was blocked. The corporations explained why the whole-house air purifier was so dirty. One of the reasons was that both of us had set the heater’s fan on, which meant that the sieve collected the pollutants. Another reason was that the un-even temperatures outside were too freezing and so the electric heat pump was toiling overtime and so was the whole-house air purifier. The main reason the equipment was blocked was that the equipment was of low quality. The heating corporation supplied a sieve of HEPA which was the best quality which would help with indoor comfort. Though I knew more about heating than most homeowners, I had ignored the frequently required HVAC tune-up. Thankfully the hydronic heating equipment both of us had in the guest house did not have an whole-house air purifier.
