All of the money from the settlement was put in an account and I had access to that account when I turned 18. I bought a car with the money and I also purchased the three bedroom mobile home on 10 acres of property. I thought it was the best way to use the money, because I would not have to worry about rent or a car payment for a very long time. My mom thought it was a wise use of the money as well. After I purchased the mobile home, I moved to the property with my dog and a cat. A friend of mine wanted to move in and pay rent, so I agree. It was a lot more fun with two people in the house. When another friend of mine needed a place to live, I let the guy rent the third bedroom. The three of us have been roommates for 6 months. Last weekend, the window AC unit and the living room stopped working. It was blowing cool air and then it was blowing warm air. The window AC unit in the living room is about 5 years old, and I don’t have enough money to replace the machine. I asked my roommates to help pay for the new AC unit and they thought I was joking. I didn’t think it was ridiculous to ask them to help pay for the AC unit since all of us are using the amenity.
