We bought HEPA air filters for a reason.

I had to laugh when my mom told me that we had a poor record when it came to our health.

Everyone in our family has had their fill of health issues.

The worst thing we all suffer with, is allergies, and not just the seasonal kind. We all have an intolerance to common house dust. Most of my family also have arthritis and other problems like COPD and asthma. Because of this, we recently converted to using HEPA air filters instead of regular air filters. The severity of our allergies goes from sneezes and sniffles, to not being able to breathe. If there is even a speck of dust around her, she goes into severe asthma attacks. In an effort to help alleviate some of her problems, the doctor told mom she might want to invest in a different type of air filtering system. He also suggested we consider an air purification system either for her room, or a whole-home air purification system. I did some research to see if the HVAC system actually had any ties to health issues. All of my research came back with the same resounding answer of YES. At that time, we only used regular HVAC air filters. Dad bought the cheapest he could find and changed them every couple weeks. It helped my sister for a couple days, but then the asthma was back. When he finally broke down and bought HEPA air filters at the doctors behest, we saw a big difference. Everyone’s allergies abated and my sister hadn’t had an asthma attack in a couple months. That doesn’t mean he isn’t still considering having the whole-home air purification system installed.
