Kinesthetic Learner Decides to Go to Career School

When I was young, if you wanted to learn a skill after high college, you would go to what they called a trade college or a vocational college.

Women often went to learn how to be enjoyable secretaries, nurses, or hairstylists, and men would often go to learn how to become a plumber, an electrician, or an air conditioner repair specialist.

At some point in time, it became kind of an inadequate goal to learn a trade, and all students were always encouraged to go to college. That is actually ridiculous, as not everyone is interested in several more years of book reading. Now, the pendulum is swinging back, and people are often encouraged to go to what they now call job colleges. They call them that because they certain ly teach you a job. As a high college lecturer, I had several students who likely would have done better reading a trade such as plumbing or air conditioner repair. Kinesthetic learners, in particular, are often better suited to trades such as electricians or Heating, Ventilation, and A/C installers. Both of us were unquestionably not allowed to request to our students that they learn how to service heating and cooling units or how to chop hair back in those days, however nowadays, it is perfectly sufficient once again. I did have one truly smart student who told myself and others he wanted to go to a job college, however his guidance counselor was warning him against it. He came to myself and others for advice, and I knew that he was easily a kinesthetic learner. If he could not hold it or touch it, he had difficulty reading it. I told him to do what his heart told him to do, and as a result, I get free air conditioner and oil furnace repair whenever I need it from my former student!
