I work for a specialty construction company here in town, & we are contracted with numerous theme park attractions, both locally & nationally; We are a theming company that creates immersive environments for the entertainment of others.
- It’s a fun job, & we get to see all the modern attractions that are being built before they are released to the press.
I have walked through so various sites during the construction phase, which is cool because that is exclusive behind the scenes access, though it has some sweet perks, I do face some challenges with my job… One of which includes finding a reputable signs & graphics company when we have projects out of town. We love to use graphics companies that are close to the jobsite to save on shipping and if there are any troubles – it would be easier to usual with a local business… So, before a project is kicked off, we have a meeting to discuss the graphics package & the requirements. I am the Project Coordinator, & part of my job is to find local graphic design, sign, & printing companies. I consistently print copies of the drawings for the site Superintendents, however those drawings get wet, misplaced, or destroyed while on the construction site. Therefore, I have had to site last minute orders with local printing companies because I usually have 1 day to have modern drawings in the hands of the Superintendent. It is tough to find printing repair especially at the last minute, so I have since opened accounts with numerous major graphics companies in all the states that we are currently working in. I need to have as various backup companies as possible with cheap printing services especially when I need last minute printing done.
