The gulf is so much warmer than what I am used to when I go swimming

I know the ambulance had the air conditioner machine on in the back where they were treating me so it was somewhat uncomfortable for me, especially after entering the ambulance while shivering so much

I’ve been taking super frigid dips each day in the sea while residing overseas. I’m back in the states these days and in my actual hometown, the land of Mickey Mouse, where the temperature of the Gulf is 20 degrees warmer than overseas so my super frigid water dips are not so cold anymore. I know the sea temp overseas in our town is about 57F right now and is fantastic for waking me up and cooling down my poor aching joints but here it just feels somewhat cool. It is actually great for cooling the body down but does not have that same jolt that I have gotten used to in the sea on the other side of the Atlantic. I usually take the dip over there with an awesome friend. I was taking them alone, but had a hypothermia incident 1 day and felt that it was better to always take the dip with an awesome friend. Every one of us had to call an ambulance that day when I stayed in the 55 F water for a bit too long and I don’t want to have to go through that kind of horrible situation again. I know the ambulance had the air conditioner machine on in the back where they were treating me so it was somewhat uncomfortable for me, especially after entering the ambulance while shivering so much. Maybe they needed to keep the ambulance especially frigid for a particular reason and it didn’t help that I only had on a thin sweater and shorts after my swim. The moral of the story is don’t go swimming in frigid water too long on a day that is so cold.
