Last summer, I noticed that various rooms of the house felt warmer than others. Certain areas were downright warm, even though the a/c was running more often than normal. When I started paying closer attention, I realized that there was an excess of dust circulating in the air plus a slight musty odor. Thinking there was a problem with the a/c, I tied up a repair. The contractor who checked the cooling component found nothing more than a slight buildup of dust within the inner workings. When every one of us inspected the air duct, however, he confirmed that approximately 25% of our conditioned air was leaking out of flaws in the pipes. Holes in the ducts plus cracks at the seams were not only allowing air to escape but also drawing in outside air plus contaminants. Because the maximum amount of air wasn’t being distributed throughout the house, the a/c was forced to work harder to meet thermostat settings. The wear plus tear would have eventually led to a malfunction or even premature failure; Plus, I was paying higher energy bills for reduced comfort. The duct sealing process was quick plus effective. The worker clogged off the supply plus return vents plus then pumped pressurized air into the system. This air was laced with non-polymer particles that are adhesive. When the air leaked from the various imperfections, the particles gathered along the edges plus created an airtight seal. By sealing the ducts from the inside, there was no mangle to the house plus no mess. The duct sealing process was guided by a computer program, plus the worker performed testing to verify the results.
