Refrigerant leak leads to replacing heating/cooling unit

When every one of us first obtained our home, my husband plus I were aware that the packaged heating/cooling component was seriously aged plus would need to be replaced in the near future. The unit was huge plus unattractive but really handled our needs. The two of us live in an area with seriously warm plus humid summers but mild plus short winters. The temperature fluctuates from the triple digits to the low forties. Because of other house improvement projects, every one of us put off purchasing a new heating plus cooling system. The aged component held up for many years before every one of us had problems. In the middle of June, I noticed moderate air coming from the vents. I tried fiddling with the thermostat setting plus cleaning the air filter but couldn’t repair the issue. I hired an Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor who took the outdoor component apart plus discovered a small refrigerant leak. He said there was no way to determine whether the leak was a new development or an old, absolutely slow leak. The age of our component made it impossible to replace parts plus totally repair the system. He commanded adding plus recharging the refrigerant plus hoping for the best. The repair could possibly last for a week or many years. This solution cost myself and others around $200. It held up for about many months. At that point, I decided against spending another $200 on a temporary repair. I chose to invest many thoUSnd dollars into a brand new packaged heating plus cooling system. The component is much smaller in size, makes a lot less noise plus provides superior comfort. It also costs less to operate. The savings on our heating plus cooling bills will help to offset the purchase price.
